Do US (Texas) hospitals test for herpes in presurgery bloodwork?

An expartner has tested positive for genital herpes, and I have had surgery and bloodwork since then. I will get tested anyway, but i am wondering if the test has likely already been performed.

No, they do not test for herpes at part of pre surgery testing in the US.

Testing for herpes is not standard prior to an operation. They usually just test your blood for a blood count (to make sure you’re not anemic), platelets (to see that you are not at risk for bleeding) and electrolytes (sodium, pottasium), kidney function (BUN/ Creatinine) and glucose.
